PAPA STEFANO VIII (? - 931), born in Rome, elected in 929. He ruled the Church for 2 ANN1, 1 month and 9 days. Because of the death of the second Stephen Pope, which took place in 752 before the consecration, not all sources take account of the latter in the numbering of the subsequent homonyms; for this reason the Pope elected in 929 is sometimes considered Pope Stephen VII. Postcard chromolithographic n. 136 from the 'Collection of the Popes Romans' dedicated to Pope Pius X and blessed by Him. Rome, October 1903
