CREMONA "The Shoah violin", which belonged to the young violinist Eva Levi Segre, deported and died at the age of 22 in the Auschwitz concentration camp. Transmitted to his brother Renzo (or Enzo, only one year younger), he is instead survived being able to bring it back with him in his difficult return to Italy, where he remained sadly unused until the discovery by Carutti. Civic Museum of Cremona, Ponzone wing, collection of historical instruments by Carlo Alberto Carutti; exhibition "The music rooms", a section to celebrate the memory of the First and Second World Wars and music as an instrument of resistance and survival to the atrocities of the war. The instrument, which is periodically used in celebratory concerts, is exposed to the public from the year that saw the double anniversary of the centenary of Italy's entry into the first conflict, and of the 70th anniversary of the end of the second: from the Day of Memory of 2015.
