Santa Gerrato of Helfta, called the Great (January 6, 1256 - November 17, 1302), a religious and mystical Cistercian. According to ancient sources then revised it would be born in 1263 and passed in 1334 after having covered for forty years the role of laurel, a circumstance denied by the latest studies that confuse confusion with the contemporary presence in the convent of the older Gertrude of Hackeborn, sister of Matilde, the first teacher of little Gertrude. For sure he entered the convent at five years, where he loved the study of literature, music and singing, and the art of the miniature; at age 26, she was the first of a series of mystical visions, accompanied by the torment of illnesses that did not, but they reinforced her faith. Infuriated and eager to gather in contemplation, however, never failed to receive and help the people brought to her by her growing fame of holiness, to which she gave the comfort of the Sacred Heart. The commemoration at the time of the press was celebrated on November 15, the Roman Martirolio of 2001 fixed the liturgical memory on 16 November. Colored Etching, Italy 1886
