BACCIO d'AGNOLO (May 19, 1462 - March 6, 1543), the name with which is best known Bartolomeo d'Agnolo Baglioni, Italian architect and sculptor. After gaining a reputation as a carving sculptor in the wood (art learned in his father's shop) he completed architectural studies in Rome, and from the early sixteenth century he made a significant contribution to the appearance of Florence through the construction of buildings civil and religious. The portrait in oval is enclosed in a frame decorated with allegorical figures and instruments of the arts.
