Santi SIMONE and GIUDA Apostoli (1st century). Simone (? 107), called 'Zelota' in the Gospel of Luke and 'Canaan' in the Gospels of Mark and Matthew, performed his work of evangelization in Africa, Egypt and the Middle East; Judas Taddeo (? - October 28, 70), the first Catholicos of all Armenians, made his apostolate in Galilee, Anatolia, Phenicia, Arabia, Syria and Mesopotamia. Simone met here, and they continued their work until they were arrested and brought to the temple of the sun, where martyrdom traditionally suffered. According to other versions, San Simone would have suffered martyrdom decades later in Colchis or Jordan. Commemoration on October 28, the day of death (Dies Natalis, birth in the sky) of St. Judas. Colored Etching, Italy 1886
