Saint JOAN FRANCES FREMIOT DE CHANTAL (January 28, 1572 - December 13, 1641), a French religious. Born in a noble family, she married Baron de Chantal for twenty years, from whom he had six children. As a widow, she became a passionate disciple and correspondent of the Bishop of Geneva, Francesco di Sales (August 21, 1567 - December 28, 1622), with whom she co-founder of the congregation of the Visitandine nuns, who preached the practice of divine love through prayer, contemplation and visit to the poor and sick; with the elevation in the Order of the Visitation of Santa Maria in 1618, in the rule of St. Augustine, the nuns embraced the cloistered. Proclaimed holy in 1767 by Pope Clement XIII, commemoration at the time of the press was celebrated locally on 21 August; the Roman Martiology of 2001 sets liturgical memory on August 12 and December 13, the day of death (Dies Natalis, birth to heaven).
