Sant'AUDOMARO (600 - November 1, 670) Bishop of Thérouanne, appointed by King Dagoberto I. Knowing the language of the Sassoni, who had settled in Normandy, departed with his father to evangelize his diocese again, that the new invaders had brought back to paganism, not the evangelization of the fourth century. In Saint-Omer (Pas-de-Calais), he founded the Abbey of San Bertino. At the end of his existence he became blind, and this is why he is invoked by those with visual disturbances. Traditionally commemorated on 9 September, the Roman Martiology of 2001 sets liturgical memory on November 1, the day of death (Dies Natalis, birth to heaven). Colored Etching, Italy 1886
