Santa ROSALIA de 'Sinibaldi (circa 1130 - September 4, 1170) holy virgin anacoreta. Born in the noble family of Sinibaldi / Berardi and raised in the ages of his condition, still very young was chosen for his grace and kindness at the court of Ruggero II of Altavilla, as bridesmaid of the queen wife; promise a bride to a worthy pretender, the night before the wedding, looking in the mirror, he saw the image of Jesus, cut off his braids, and embraced his vocation, retreating into a cave in the patrician feast of Quisquina, later in a 'another cave in Mount Pellegrino, near Palermo, where he died at peace at age 35. After miraculously escaping the plague of 1624 he was elected patron saint of Sicily, Palermo, of several Sicilian and bell towns and of the Genoese quarter of Pegli. With Decree of the Kingdom of Two Sicilies n. 2240, on September 6, 1828, the chapters of the brotherhood of Santa Rosalia in Messina were approved.
