San LUDOVICO of Toulouse (February 9, 1274 - August 19, 1297), a French religious also known as Ludovico d'Angiò; After spending some years in prison with his brothers, reduced to hostages for the release of Father Charles II, for liberation he renounced the legacy of the Kingdom of Naples in favor of his younger brother, Roberto d'Angiò, preferring to enter the Franciscan Order. Ordered bishop of Toulouse in 1296, he wanted to go to Rome in spite of the tuberculosis that afflicted him, to attend the canonization of Grand-great-grandfather Sal Luigi IX. The fatigue of the journey contributed to a fatal aggravation. Commemoration on August 19, the day of death (Dies Natalis, birth in the sky). Colored Etching, Italy 1886
