SANTA CHIARA of Assisi (circa 1193 - August 11, 1253), in the Chiara Scifi century, an Italian religious of noble origins, to whom he renounced stripping of every right and wealth pursuing the ideal of Christian and Franciscan poverty. She was the founder of the Order of the Nativity Clarisse and a collaborator of St. Francis, who distinguished himself for the worship of the Eucharist. For twice Assisi was threatened by the army of Emperor Frederick II, in which several Saracens also militarized. The saint, who was now sick, was brought to the city walls with the pisside containing the Blessed Sacrament, and the invading army said to escape. The commemoration at the time of the press was celebrated on 12 August, the 2001 Roman Martyrology set liturgical memory on August 11, the day of death (Dies Natalis, birth to heaven).
