Saint JOHN and PAUL (dead in Rome on June 26, 362) Christian martyrs. According to tradition, being the two Christian brothers prominent figures in Rome of the time, when Giuliano said the Apostate decided to restore pagan rituals turned to them, to bring the example that would have been imitated by many. However, the two silent brothers refused to worship Jupiter's idol, and after ten days of imprisonment in their own home at Celio, during which Giuliano thought they would be convinced, because of perseverance in their rejection, he had them decapitate and bury them himself. After the time of persecution passed, the basilica on Mount Celio arose in that same place. Commemoration on June 26, the day of death (Dies Natalis, birth in the sky). Colored Etching, Italy 1886
