Saint Basil Magno (329-1 January 379), confessor, bishop of Caesarea in Cappadocia and ancient Greek theologian, Father and Doctor of the Church, venerated by the Christian Churches. It is considered the first of the Cappadoci Fathers, the principles of his Rule still mark the life of the Basilian monks after seventeen centuries. The commemoration at the time of the press was celebrated on June 14, the day of bishopric ordination, the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council set liturgical memory on 2 January.
