St. PAMFILO martyr (2nd century - 16th February 309) Christian scholar of the Bible, disciple of the Origen philosopher, contributed to the vast collection of texts for the theological Library of Cesarea Marittima. He was martyred for decapitation with 12 other companions of faith under Emperor Galerio, and was revered as a saint by the Catholic Church commemorating him on February 16, the day of death (Dies Natalis, born to heaven), and the orthodox Commemorates June 1st.
