caption: St. JOHN OF Lycopolis (Assiut, 305-395) In Carpenter's origin, to 25 years took monastic vows and lived for fifteen years in various Egyptian monasteries, then came in the Thebaid where he became a hermit on a mountain, spending his life in a small walled cell.
