caption: SERIAL KILLER Trial to Marcel Petiot (1897 -1946): short paragraph in rhyme signed "Il Cavaliere Errante", commentary on the news of the trial and condemnation of "Dottor Petiot"; the criminal killed more than sixty people, starting in 1926, including several wealthy Jews lured with the prospect of expatriating during the Nazi occupation of Paris and some members of the Gestapo incognito, who ended up in his network in an attempt to defeat what they believed an effective resistance cell. The author of the paragraph hopes "That is enough, and the world flatters itself - that every murderer is eliminated, - kill with a machine gun or syringe, - be it a Nazi, a maquisard or a scientist, - and that death to we give it to the Lord, - even with the help of a doctor! " The homicidal doctor was actually guillotined in Paris on May 25, 1946. Page detail from "La Domenica del Corriere", Italy April 7, 1946
