BEETHOVEN Act 3 Scene 3 of the work of Ludwig Van Beethoven's "Fidelio", composed to a libretto by Joseph Sonnleithner and Georg Friedrich Treitschke. Leonore, as the jailer Rocco in Fidelio with the Florestan's secret is revealed to Don Pizarro who has come to kill him. The first presentation is November 20, 1805 in the Theater an der Wien (Vienna) was not successful, and the Master was forced to withdraw. Only in 1814, after several revisions which led to even the reduction from three to two acts, the lyrical drama finally met and definitely the favor of the public.
