GUSTAVO III of Sweden (1746-1792) king since 1771, sovereign with a complex and often contradictory, he was a collector of art (in particular neo-classical) and lover of Italy, theater and literature. It was quite a playwright and his works also devised sets and costumes. Interested in art and architecture of the gardens gave a new face to its capital. Created around him a court culturally elegant, promoting the activities of writers and founded in 1786 the 'Swedish Academy that awards the Nobel Prize today for literature.
