Originally destined for the marquisate of Castiglione delle Stiviere, he renounced it in favor of his brother Rodolfo to dedicate himself to religious life, to the care of the humble and the sick; he died at the age of 23 for the contracted disease by exercising his office during a plague epidemic in Rome.
