In the hypothetical reconstruction of the theft that took place the night between 20 and 21 August, the illustrator imagines two criminals at work; as it turned out instead later, author of the criminal enterprise was, alone, the Italian Vincenzo Peruggia that motivated the gesture proclaiming that he wanted to bring back the masterpiece to his homeland.
