caption: ROSSO FIORENTINO (1494-1540), a nickname by Giovanni Battista of Jacopo, a painter, one of the major exponents of Florentine painting from the beginning of the 16th century. He then moved to Rome and Central Italy in 1530 to the court of Francis I of France, where he became principal representative of the school of Fontainebleau.
