caption: SONGS OF THE RESISTANCE April 25, 1945. On the occasion of April 25, 2005, the 60th anniversary of the Liberation, Barabàn is promoting a performance and a DVD dedicated to the Resistance. A project dedicated to memory, the values of freedom, democracy, and peace. The project includes the production of a DVD lasting over 70 minutes containing footage from Barabàn's performance of "Vento d'Aprile" (April Wind), collected by a team of Milanese directors and filmmakers (Mietta Albertini, Bruno Bigoni, Giuseppe Baresi, Mohammed Challouf, Tonino Curagi, Anna Gorio, and Renato Minotti), interviews with partisans, couriers, and scholars of resistance songs (including Luchino Dal Verme, commander of the Gramsci Division, Antonietta Bramo "Fiamma," Ando Gilardi, Libero Traversa "Aiace," Agide Sassi, a survivor of Cefalonia, and Libero Giacomelli of the 122nd Garibaldi Brigade), and archive footage. The multimedia concert "Venti5 d'Aprile" will also be staged. Sounds, images, and memories for the Resistance, with images projected on a large screen, to be held in April and May 2005. Six musicians will perform songs and music of the Resistance (from Calvino's Oltre il ponte to Revelli's Pietà l'è morta, from Fischia il vento to Bella Ciao, from Bubola's Eurialo e Niso to Loi's La set) while archive footage, partisan testimonies, and reconstructions of events are shown on the screen.
