caption: Igino GHISELLINI (20 July 1895 – 13 November 1943) On the night between 13 and 14 November the lifeless body of the Federal of Ferrara was found near Castel d'Argile. Ghisellini had assumed the position of federal member of the reconstituted Fascist Party in Ferrara, which had taken the name of the Republican Fascist Party; at the same time, he was appointed Commander of the 75th Legion of the Volunteer Militia for National Salvation (MVSN). His death was followed by a prompt reprisal known as the Estense Castle massacre, in which 11 civilians chosen from among the 74 anti-fascists arrested on the 14th were shot on the morning of November 15th, but there is a controversy among historians who attribute the murder to partisan groups Patriotic Action, or an internal feud within the local Republican Fascist Party.
