Antonio SALIERI (18 August 1750 – 7 May 1825), Italian composer, musician and teacher of classicism. Born in the Republic of Venice, at a young age he moved to Vienna to the court of Joseph II of Habsburg, where at just twenty-four he was appointed Kammerkomponist and musical director of Italian opera. Portrait in oval in a 19th century lithograph.
