COLLODI The garden of Villa Garzoni and the Pinocchio Park are among the major tourist attractions of the Tuscan village. The history of Collodi is very marked by the events that took place around the Garzoni family, which belonged to the Ghibellines and for this reason always had Guelph Florence as its enemy. When (1339) Florence consolidated its power over the entire Valdinievole, the Garzoni family was forced to emigrate to Lucca where they were welcomed with benevolence. Throughout the 14th century Collodi had an intense life. He participated on the side of the Ghibellines in the battles of Montecatini (1315) and Altopascio (1325), in the failed attempt to retake Pescia, in the disastrous events of the war between Pisa and Florence.
