caption: MONSTERS ''The Ogre'', large face with empty eye sockets and a wide open mouth through which you enter a small room whose walls give the voices a frightening echo; glimpse of the ''Parco dei Mostri'' of Bomarzo (Viterbo), designed by the architect Pirro Ligorio (1512/1513 – 26 October 1583) in 1547 commissioned by Prince Pier Francesco Orsini known as Vicino, saddened by the death of his wife Giulia Farnese . The monumental complex is divided into a series of sculptures depicting mythological animals, deities and monsters, scattered across approximately 3 hectares of a natural park. Peperino sculpture by Simone Moschino (Simone Simoncelli 12 November 1553 – 20 June 1610), Italy, 16th century.
