caption: HISTORY OF PHOTOGRAPHY ''Escopette'', camera patented by the Swiss painter, engraver, designer and photographer Albert Darier (25 February 1843 - 23 March 1915) in 1888. It is one of the first cameras used for ''reportage'' thanks to its small size and practicality (it used the very new Eastmann Kodak technique). The handle could be easily transformed into a tripod using the folding front supports. Switzerland, 19th century.
