It is a herbaceous plant with a very robust rhizomatous root from which the stem arises, simple for the first part and then branched into three branches that can reach 1.50 m in height. The fruits and leaves of Atropa belladonna contain alkaloids, such as scopolamine and atropine, which have depressant effects on nerve endings.
