caption: PILA Centenary of the battery of Alessandro Volta (18 February 1745 – 5 March 1827), the profile of the physicist in a gold medal next to the representation of his invention: the battery held by winged putti. For the occasion the city of Como had organized a large Exhibition, whose pavilions are depicted on the shores of the lake. Finally, a train running along the telegraph line represents the patrons of the postcard, which brings the Honours of the Telegraphers to Volta. Commemorative allegorical postcard, three-colour V.
