caption: CHILDREN show-party for the children of the miners of the historic lignite mine in Luni, known as the Lunara, from which it was already extracted in Etruscan times. The children wear hats and poor accessories made from newspaper. Lignite is a fossil coal with poor fuel characteristics, which fell into disuse after the Second World War (1950-60). The workers occupied this mine in an attempt to prevent its closure, so as not to lose the job that allowed them to support their families, but they were unable to avoid the cessation of activity and the dismissal of the workers.
