caption: FREE RADIO ''RMC Radio Monte Carlo'', which debuted in 1943 as a Franco-German broadcaster to reach the unoccupied territories of southern France with Nazi propaganda, after the Second World War it became Franco-Monegasque, broadcasting programs of music, information and entertainment in France and from 1966 also in Italy in their respective languages, when broadcasting in the two countries was still a monopoly. It was in effect a ''peripheral radio'' that broadcast from systems located abroad, in full legality, but allowing itself non-conformist programming and not subject to Italian censorship, offering songs such as ''Bocca di Rosa'' and '' Carlo Martello'' by De André, or ''Je t'aime, moi non plus'' by Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin, but also granting himself the proceeds from controversial advertising in Italy, such as that of tobacco; before there were free radios, listeners could ask for dedications and participate in telephone prize games. After ten years of success, the liberalization of the airwaves sanctioned by the sentence of the Italian Constitutional Court n. 202 of 28 July 1976 opened the doors to countless local private broadcasters, taking away vital space from RMC, which to maintain usability and ratings sold the concession in 1987 to the publisher Alberto Hazan of Studio 105, who opened the RCM Italia studios in Milan: the first private radio to broadcast in Italy in medium waves, FM, satellite, also being a member of Eurovision, like RAI. Promotional sticker, Italy 1988.
