caption: Angelo Maria RIPELLINO (4 December 1923 - 21 April 1978) Italian literary, translator and poet, particularly close to the Slavic literati who had translated for Italian editions and who had influenced his literary production. Many of his travels in Eastern Europe, since the post-war years when he married a Czechoslovak scholar, Ela Hlochova to whom he remained attached throughout his life, sharing studies and work; in the 1950s during a trip a USSR met Boris Pasternak and Evgenij Evtušenko; he edited numerous translations for Einaudi and collaborated with Rai Radio Tre. In 1968 he was the correspondent for "L'Espresso" as a reporter for the Prague Spring. The sixties and seventies were the most intense for his poetic-literary production.
