Ivan Alekseevic BUNIN (October 22, 1870 - November 8, 1953), Russian writer and poet, with his wife Vera Muromtseva (October 14, 1881 - April 3, 1961), also a writer, in Paris, where they had taken refuge after leaving Russia in 1918 because they were hostile to communism. The Russian poet was the first of his nationality to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1933.
