He died poor and ignored, after thirty years of work, and Daguerre had to receive the glory as Amerigo Vespucci. Niepce and Cristoforo Columbus was forgotten: the silver iodide and the mercury vapor finally gave the first 'daguerrotipi.' After hours of patience and installation, a very poor result was achieved, it is true, but from there onwards the photograph will go from progress to progress ".
