caption: HISTORY OF PHOTOGRAPHY "The Daguerreotype: a comic song", comic song with piano accompaniment, composed and dedicated by Phaeton to the illustrious Louis Jacques Mandé Daguerre shortly after the publication of his invention. In the caricature drawing, the father of photography is depicted as a unkempt genius, surrounded by portraits and scripted poses, with a bright winking sun under his arm. Even the name of the author, Fetonte, is linked to the sun that gives rise to the photograph, insinuating, however, the doubt that the new art form may have incontrovertible nefarious outcomes.
