The Metropolitan Cathedral of Notre-Dame, built between 1163 and 1250 in Gothic style on the initiative of Bishop Maurice de Sully, then variously restored and modified until the mid-fourteenth century, taking on the aspect with which it is famous throughout the world. The roof made of lead tiles on an oak wood frame and the Flèche, the nineteenth-century spire made by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc that enriches the cruise, have unfortunately been destroyed in the terrible fire of 15 April 2019.
