caption: CANALE D'AGORDO (BL) The archpriest church in piazza Albino Luciani, dedicated to San Giovanni Battista; at the center of the façade a rosette representing the Saint by Valentino Panciera Besarel (29 July 1829 - 11 December 1902), while on the right aisle a gigantic portrait of Pope John Paul I (Canale's native, 17) stands out. October 1912 - September 28, 1978) and the plaque with a quote from Pope Karol Wojtyla, here arrived on pilgrimage for the commemoration of the first anniversary of the proclamation of his predecessor to Pope: "He is here: with his teaching, with his example, with his smile John Paul II, homily in Canale, 26 August 1979 ".
