caption: THE SOWING OF THE SAFFRON (Crocus sativus) plant of the Iridaceae family. The end of the preparation of a furrow with the hoe. Organic cultivation in Lower Piedmont (Monferrato). The graceful bulb plant is cultivated in Asia Minor and in many countries of the Mediterranean basin including Italy, where the most extensive crops are found in the Marche, Abruzzo and Sardinia.
