caption: Teresio OLIVELLI (Bellagio, January 7, 1916 - Hersbruck, January 17, 1945), an Alpine soldier, patriot, and Italian religious figure, died in a concentration camp defending the vulnerable. A trifold leaflet distributed as a devotional image on the occasion of his beatification, quoting the "Prayer of the Alpine Soldier," against a striking backdrop of the Black Feathers in the mountains. The cause was opened on March 29, 1987, in the diocese of Vigevano, and after several years, was submitted to the definitive judgment of Pope Francis, who on December 14, 2015, authorized the promulgation of the Decree on the heroism of his virtues, granting the Servant of God Teresio Olivelli the title of Venerable. On June 17, 2017, his martyrdom was recognized, paving the way for his beatification, which was proclaimed in Vigevano (PV) on February 3, 2018.
