caption: Primo CARNERA (October 25, 1906 - June 29, 1967) Italian boxer, wrestler and actor, US citizen in 1953. After a childhood with a poverty-stricken adolescence as a forced man of a circus, with the imposing physicist of a as a bartender, on 29 June 1933 he snatched the heavyweight title to Jack Sharkey, the first Italian to win a world boxing title. From the second half of the thirties he left the noble art perpetuating success in cinema and wrestling.
