caption: Saint FELICE DI VALOIS (April 1127 - 4 November 1212), a century Ugo count of Vermandois and Valois, French religious, Confessor, co-founder with Saint John de Matha of the Order of the Holy Trinity. The eldest son of Raul I of Vermandois and Valois, in 1160 abdicated in favor of his half-brother Rodolfo to receive sacred orders. He led the life of a hermit in the Alps and Cerfroid, in the diocese of Meaux where he reached him, who was already sixty years old, his friend Giovanni de Matha asking him welcome and support in the spiritual preparation for his project to dedicate his apostolate to the redemption of Christian prisoners in hand to the Moors. Felice supported him with enthusiasm, and more, he accompanied Giovanni to Rome to obtain the approval of the Pope for the foundation of an order dedicated to the cause; Innocent III approved it with the name of the Order of Friars of the SS. Trinity. Returning to France, they found the support of King Philip, who gave them the land to build the first convent, in which Felice spent his remaining years in the formation of the monks and in the propagation of the order. The commemoration at the time of the press was celebrated on November 20, the Roman Martyrology of 2001 fixed the liturgical memory on November 4, the day of death (Dies Natalis, birth to heaven).
