caption: San GIACOMO DELLA MARCA (September 1, 1393 - November 28, 1476), to the century Domenico Gangala, a priest belonging to the Order of Friars Minor Observant, canonized in 1726 by Pope Benedict XIII. Graduated in Law in Perugia, he practiced in Tuscany as a judge and then as a notary in the secretary of the city of Florence. In contact with the Franciscan world, in 1416 he entered the Order of Friars Minor and in 1423 he was ordained a priest. In 1430 he founded the Sanctuary of the Most Holy Place of Lattani in Roccamonfina together with San Bernardino da Siena. He carried out important diplomatic functions, built basilicas, convents, libraries, wells and public cisterns; gave statutes to eleven cities as he founded new confraternities, a precursor to this Catholic covenantism. He wrote 18 books. Great Preacher, in order to fight the weariness, conceived the Mounts of Piety, so that the poor could commit their affairs to a minimum interest.
