caption: San QUINTINO of Vermand (? - 287) saint of Roman origin, who suffered the martyrdom in Gaul under Massimiano. He was incarcerated for having preached at Amiens, was chained and tortured; during the transfer to Reims, where he would have to undergo a new process, he managed to escape and continue for some time preaching; again caught by the prefect Riziovaro's men, was again tortured and finally decapitated, his body thrown into the Somme. Tradition tells that fifty-five years after a pious blind woman he miraculously found the remains, and after having relocated and buried on a mountain, and protected the burial with a small chapel, he regained the sight.
