San FRANCESCO da Paola (27 March 1416 - 2 April 1507), thaumaturgist, founder of the Order of Minims. The fame of the prodigies he accomplished reached up to Louis XI of France, who, unable to recover from his serious illness, wanted him by his side. The saint did not heal his body, but supported him in the spirit, so much so that the sovereign also wanted him as a spiritual guide for his son, future Charles VIII. Commemoration on 2 April, the day of death (Dies Natalis, birth to heaven). Colored engraving, Italy 1886
