FAUSTINO saints and GIOVITA (? - 120/134), Brescia noble pagan family, embarked on a military career and became knights; were converted to Christianity by Bishop Apollonius, they became skillful evangelizers and suffered martyrdom under Hadrian for refusing to sacrifice to the gods. After they stopping long suffered all sorts of torture; since their miraculous survival was due to countless conversions, they were first transferred to Milan, then to Rome and Naples, to return finally to Brescia where he died beheaded. Venerated by the Catholic Church as saints, are patrons of the city and the Diocese of Brescia and the Parish of Sorbolo (Pr).
