caption: San JUAN DE MATHA (June 23, 1154 - December 17, 1213) that French priest and co-founder, with the hermit Felix of Valois, the Order of the Holy Trinity, for the work of liberation from slavery with particular dedication to the redemption of Christian prisoners in the hands of the Moors. Also known by the epithet Doctor Eminens, he is revered as a saint by the Catholic Church. His cult was approved by Pope Alexander VII 21 October 1666.
