caption: CARICATURE That dear Senator Merlin continues his work moralizing! The town of Castelsilano was officially created August 14, 1811 under the name of Casino, although the foundation of the town dates back to 1685 with the name Castrum Casini. Only May 13, 1950, upon petition to the President of the Republic Luigi Einaudi, the name was replaced with the current one. The name originates from a hunting lodge built by the local prince to commemorate the end of a long-standing dispute between the two neighboring landowners and peace in the conquered territory. The cartoon ironically attaches the name change to segnatrice Merlin, from the refill number of 4 June 1950
