Guardian of the younger brothers of William IV of Bavaria from 1509 to 1517, was later appointed official historian of Bavaria, and in that capacity he composed chronicon "Annales Bojorum" (Annals of the Bavarians) for which he was also nicknamed "Bavarian Herodotus".
