caption: Alfonso LA MARMORA (1804-1878) Italian general and politician. Several times minister of war (1849-60), reorganized the army of Savoy; fought in the Crimea (1855-56), was the prefect of Naples (1861) and Chairman of the Board (1859, 1864-66).
