caption: GESTURES Vittorio Gassman (1 September 1922 – 29 June 2000) performs the interpretation of theatrical gestures or ''tragic attitudes'' (Morrocchesi): standing, bust slightly backwards, right arm extended along the body, left hand in the pocket, head slightly inclined and broad smile. Possible meaning: shy, but very friendly attitude; fun and carefree; serene joy. Sequence of 8 poses in which small variations attribute different meanings to a fundamentally unchanged posture (compare 36329, 36328, 36317, 36318, 36319, 35677, 35661, 36320). The actor participated with other colleagues in the world survey on the value of the gesture in human culture promoted by UNESCO at the V International Congress of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences held in Philadelphia in 1956, and which for Italy was conducted by the anthropologist Romano Calisi (1931 - 1975) and the photographer Ando Gilardi. Subsequently, the director of the Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions of Rome prof. Tullio Tentori (1920 - 2003), also an anthropologist, understanding the value of research, joined the group as conservator and archivist.
