caption: VENICE lunette of the secondary Sant'Alipio with the transfer of the body of St. Mark's is the only survivor of the original thirteenth-century mosaics of the Cathedral of Venice, dated about 1265. The Basilica is shown as it appeared in the middle of the thirteenth century, before the work of transformation and elevation of the domes. Above the central lunette with Christ the Judge will recognize the horses of the chariot, brought to Venice with the spoils of the sack of Constantinople by the Fourth Crusade in 1204.
